Convert text to letter outlines curves
Convert text to outlines, letter contours or curves? What is this? Why is this necessary and how do you do it? Here are the answers.
What are outlines and why convert?
Before we explain what letter contours are, it is important to know more about fonts.
Not every computer has the same fonts. If you send printed matter with a certain font from computer A to computer B, computer B may not have the font on its hard disk. Computer B will then automatically change the font to a random font. This makes the text of your printed matter look different. And of course you don’t want that.
By converting the text to letter contours (also called outlines or curves), the text is read as an image. Because of this, the text does not change when it is sent to another computer.
Important: once the text has been converted to outlines, you can no longer change the words.
How to convert text to letter outlines?
You can convert texts to outlines with different programs.
